The United Cohort of Social Ventures 2019

Applications for the United Cohort of Social Ventures 2019 are now open!

United Social Ventures started from an exchange of Ugandan students to Oxford University in 2012, and this exchange continued through annual awards.

United Cohort of Social Ventures

The United Cohort of Social Ventures helps incubate student projects to maximize their social impact and financial sustainability to develop students into social entrepreneurs. With 20 hours of support over the course of a year, students are led through our Project Narrative Framework to develop comprehensive strategic plans for their initiatives.

United Cohort of Social Ventures is creating a pipeline for youth-led social start-ups in Uganda to become more impactful, financially sustainable, and scalable, through 3 programs:

  1. Social Design
  2. Incubation
  3. and Acceleration

Benefits

The cohort features a number of benefits to social ventures like;

  • 25 hours of essential workshops
  • 15 hours of one-to-one tutorials
  • A trip to Oxford University

United Cohort of Social Ventures

Note: Applying is free. If selected, then United Social Ventures ask for a commitment fee UGX 100,000, which can be paid in installments. This represents under 10% of the costs of providing the incubation. They also sign an agreement that if the venture takes off and earns more than UGX 35,000,000 in a year, then they will pay back the full cost of the incubation (UGX 1,200,000).
