The 3rd Annual Uganda Youth Business Forum 2019
In partnership with the Parliament of Uganda, Action Aid Uganda, Global Platform, and support from the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs (UPFYA) is organising the 3rd Annual Youth Business Forum in Uganda, as part of the CP4D programme.
Youth Business Forum
The Youth Business Forum is an annual event aimed at generating an agenda for Uganda Youth Entrepreneurship growth and sustainability by building tangible partnerships between youth entrepreneurs and investors.
The forum was put in place as a recommendation from the 9th Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting in 2017. The ministers emphasised the need for Commonwealth countries to commit greater human and financial resources to ensure the development and empowerment of young people, who comprise nearly one-third of the Commonwealth’s population.
The theme of this year’s Business Forum is “Building Strategic Partnerships and Policy framework for supporting Youth Innovation and Start-ups.” The forum will bring together members of parliament, representatives from embassies, civil society, leading investors in Uganda and over 300 young entrepreneurs from across Uganda. The Chief Guest will be the Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga.
Event Date and Location
The forum will be held at Commonwealth resort hotel, Munyonyo on the 16th of December 2019 and will act as one of the pre-summit events to the 2020 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Kigali Rwanda.
