Call for Applications: The Pan African Virtual and E-University (PAVEU)

The Pan African Virtual and E-University (PAVEU) is one of African Union’s flagship projects which has been proposed for addressing the Agenda 2063 need for accelerating the development of human capital, science and technology and innovation through increasing access to tertiary and continuing education in Africa by capitalizing on the digital revolution and global knowledge.

The PAVEU aspires to provide every qualified candidate within the continent and beyond the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that prepare them for employment, knowledge generation, innovation and entrepreneurship. It shall strive to ensure that support services are available to distant learners and faculties to assist in providing a research-driven and evidence-based quality education that is conveniently accessed.

The Pan African Virtual and E-University project is set within the context of a number of parallel continental programmes managed by the African Union Commission. These include the Pan African University, the process of harmonization of African higher education; the Pan-African Quality Assurance and Accreditation Framework (PAQAF), the implementation of the African Quality Rating Mechanism; the Mwalimu Nyerere Scholarship Scheme, the Continental Education Strategy (2016-2025), and the Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa (2015-2024). These initiatives will directly benefit the PAVEU and contribute to its long term success.

Study Programs

Qualified, talented and enterprising applicants from African countries
and the African Diaspora are invited to apply to join online courses to
be offered by the Pan African Virtual and E-University. Each candidate
can register and enrol for any of the courses below:

  1. IT Academy Concept Courses (Note that these three courses are to be taken sequentially in the following order)
  • Cloud and Virtualization Concepts
  • Software-Defined Storage Concepts
  • Network Virtualization Concepts

2. Media & Information Literacy (MIL) (this course can be taken at any time)

Admission Requirements

  1. Applicant must be a citizen of an African Union member state.
  2. Applicant must be 18 years or above, and must avail the following:
  • National passport or ID (personal details page)
  • Scanned coloured passport size photograph;
  • Detailed CV.
