The GOBELINS and Netflix Animation Scholarship 2021 (For African Animators)
One year after the establishment of a partnership aimed at identifying and developing new talent in animation, Netflix and GOBELINS announce a new chapter in their collaboration with the creation of scholarships for three Bachelor’s students, a new post-baccalaureate course.
For almost 50 years, GOBELINS has been a global reference in the fields of visual creation from image design to image production. Our areas of expertise are animated filmmaking, graphic and motion design, photography, interactive design, printed and digital communication, video gaming, video and sound.
The GOBELINS and Netflix Animation Scholarship
This new chapter of action complements the initiatives already in place with, in particular, the financing of scholarships for Master students from the African continent and the integration each year of a young graduate from GOBELINS into the Netflix Animation Fellowship programme.
With a view to recruiting and promoting new Animation talents, Netflix and GOBELINS are currently offering six scholarships for students from the African continent for the September 2021 intake:
- 3 scholarships for undergraduates;
- 3 scholarships for graduates.
The scholarships will benefit six students who will successfully be admitted to GOBELINS’ Bachelor of Arts in Character Animation and Animated Filmmaking and Master of Arts in Character Animation and Animated Filmmaking. They will cover the tuition fees for the entire length of the programme (3 years for the BA, 2 years for the MA).
Scholarships selection results for both programmes will be announced in June 2021 for students to start their academic year in September 2021.
