The British Council #DestinationZero Challenge 2021
The British Council through the #DestinationZero challenge is looking for ideas that will help communities move closer to zero carbon emissions or adapt to the effects of climate change.
#DestinationZero is an innovation challenge for people aged 18 to 35 who want to tackle climate change and make a positive difference to the world. They are looking for a clear explanation of the climate change issue your innovation deals with and how this issue is relevant to your own community. They want to hear how your innovation will address the issues you have outlined. British Council particularly welcome innovations that have a positive effect on women and girls, people from marginalised communities, and other groups most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
- £5,000 financial support for each winning innovation by the end of March 2021
- coaching sessions between April to August 2021.
If your #DestinationZero innovation is at the idea phase, this financial and technical support will help to prototype it. If the innovation has already been tested, the support will help in its implementation.
- You must be 18 to 35 when you apply, and be a resident of one of these countries:
Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Botswana, Brazil, China, Colombia, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Occupied Palestinian Territories, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
